Notes from February 24, 2013
Meeting Cancelled due to snowstorm.
Some more wintery reading:
"The Winter Woman is as wild as a blizzard, as fresh as new snow. While some see her as cold, she has a fiery heart under that ice-queen exterior. She likes the stark simplicity of Japanese art and the daring complexity of Russian literature. She prefers sharp to flowing lines, brooding to pouting, and rock and roll to country and western. Her drink is vodka, her car is German, her analgesic is Advil. The Winter Woman likes her mean weak and her coffee strong. She is prone to anemia, hysteria, and suicide." - Christopher Moore

Some wintery reading:
" How vulgar, this hankering after immortality, how vain, how false. Composers are merely scribblers of cave paintings. One writes music because winter is eternal and because, if one didn't the wolves and the blizzards would be at one's throat all the sooner. " - David Mitchell
Cloud Atlas

Welcome!
Hello! Welcome!
The Portsmouth Writers Salon, will host its first meeting at the Portsmouth Book & Bar on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 7:00 PM.
We'll be meeting to get to know each other, share what we're writing and what we're looking to get out of the group, and agree on some ground rules for workshopping.
Please bring along a short sample (1-3 pages max) of your writing to share with the group.
A group of fiction writers from Portsmouth, NH who want to workshop their writing on a bi-weekly basis. This group is for those wanting to express themselves though writing (novels, short stories, novellas, and what have you). Together, we'll learn to improve our craft. We'll share what we have written, get ideas, and grow as a group.
All fiction writers, regardless of experience, are welcome.
Any questions please email: PortsmouthWritersSalon (at) gmail (dot) com.
